【喜穴分享】國際不再恐同日

May 17th is 🏳️‍🌈 International Day Against Homophobia 🏳️‍🌈 (IDAHO).

Compared to Pride Parade and Pink Dot, IDAHO+ may be less known to people. 😲
Hong Kong has been organizing events since 2005, but it turns out there are some local events behind it that deserve everyone’s attention. ☝🏻

First of all, let me share with you some basic information about IDAHO+~ 🤓

The origin of IDAHO🔍

On May 17, 1990, the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the "International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems" (ICD) , decriminalizing homosexuality for the first time.

IDAHO means 💭

IDAHO is the abbreviation of "International Day against Homophobia". In order to take into account more sexual minority groups, groups in some countries will use different names, such as IDAHOTI, IDAHOBIT, etc.

Hong Kong = IDAHO+ 🇭🇰

Hong Kong refers to the concept of LGBTQ+ and chooses the abbreviation of IDAHO+ in order to include all sexual minorities who have suffered discrimination group.

May 16, 2005: Hong Kong’s first IDAHO event🎏

A group of gay groups decided to launch an event to show public support Comrade's voice. The first event is scheduled to be held one day before the International Day Against Homophobia, a parade in Hong Kong called the International Day Against Homophobia. 👭🏻👬🏻

Although society is gradually becoming more tolerant of sexual minorities, it is still far from the goal of equal rights for sexual orientation. 😤

As long as we keep speaking out for sexual minorities, I believe that the world in the future will definitely exist and be proud. 🌈
